The Dream Initiative has developed a set of experiential learning games where lessons are taught through games, fun, simulation and repetition.
We learn much more quickly when we learn through play - just like when we were young children. Our experiential learning games are a fully immersive experience, include themes, props and music to create a fully experiential experience. One of the best ways to explain this style of learning is through the movie the Karate Kid, where the Karate Kid learns his martial art through a series of tasks including sanding the floor, painting the fence and waxing the car (the experience). The Karate kid does not realise that he is learning his martial art however when put to the test proves the learning has gone deep and has fully integrated the learning.
The Dream Initiative is working with Frontier Trainings, the world's number one experiential games developer for business to develop these games for teenagers and parents. We are always seeking schools and community groups who wish to participate in the pilot testing as our new games are released.

Here is what the schools said about our experiential learning games...
"The school was searching for a talented group of facilitators. We needed to bring together students from two existing schools to learn important life skills in an engaging, co-operative and fun context. And wow – we found them!
Trudi and Ben worked the room like virtuosa ringmasters and not a whip to be seen! Just loads of clever input and questioning, timely interventions, dramatic hooks and loads of personality. Our students aged 7-12yrs loved their circus roles and by the end of Round 2 had a firm grasp of developing their responses to the risk scenarios. Trudi and Ben paced the tasks perfectly with not a wasted moment. The visual prompts, music and Trudi and Ben’s character roles supported the tasks perfectly. A top day! "
- Meredith Scottney-Turbill (Gepps Cross & Kilburn Primary School)
"I saw a group of year 4 and 5’s looking engaged and excited to participate. One student, who never sits still for more then a few minutes, was engaged throughout the full one and half hours.
Trudi and Ben’s enthusiasm was evident throughout the session. The children were excited and participated well. The program certainly would assist young people to develop skills in relation to decision making and risk taking to help them prepare themselves for overall wellness, work and adult life. " - Heidi Unferdorben (Local Community Mentor Co-ordinator - DECS)
"We were very pleased to have Trudi and Ben from The Dream Initiative do an on-site workshop with the Year 9 cohort at our college. The important concepts about choices and consequences that was delivered to the group was useful to develop their approach to decision making on a day to day basis.
The students loved the interactive style of learning, being able to work in groups and the fun approach of Trudi and Ben delivering the Big Top Choices program. The students came out of the workshop with new ideas and tools to help equip them in important decision making processes and the beauty of the program is that the students are so actively involved in the fun of the game that they work together cooperatively to achieve the best possible results from their choices.
Trudi and Ben both have confident and approachable styles that the students feel comfortable to readily engage and interact with...a great learning experience for all involved! "
- Debbie Chapman (Year 9 Coordinator - Victoria University Secondary College - Deer Park Campus)
